Our History

Our History

Fountain College, a non-denominational independent school, caters to students from Kindergarten to Year 12. Established and overseen by the Baris Education and Culture Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, our institution has a rich heritage rooted in community service and educational excellence.

The Baris Education and Culture Foundation was established in 2001 by a group of Turkish Australians committed to enhancing educational opportunities within the community. In 2006, the Foundation laid the cornerstone of educational empowerment by founding Damla College, named after the Turkish word for ‘droplet’. The core ethos of the college was to nurture intellectually capable and socially conscious individuals, instilling in them a sense of moral responsibility. With an initial enrollment of 33 students, Damla College embarked on its journey.

From its modest beginning in 2006, Fountain College has experienced remarkable growth. The steadfast commitment to its founding principles has seen the institution evolve, drawing families from diverse backgrounds and communities. In recognition of this transformative journey and its broadening scope, Damla College was re-named Fountain College in 2016.

Today, Fountain College stands as a beacon of multiculturalism, boasting a student body representing nearly 30 ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Positioned as one of the fastest-growing educational institutions in the City of Canning, our college provides a dynamic learning environment across two campuses:

  • The Early Years Campus, located in Lynwood, caters to the educational needs of Kindergarten and Pre-Primary students.
  • The primary campus, located in Ferndale, serves students from Year 1 to Year 12.

At Fountain College, we are committed to delivering quality education within a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere, fostering holistic development and academic excellence among our students.
