We implement the research-based PreLit and InitiaLit literacy programs, which is a skills-based early literacy preparation program designed for Kindergarten. It aligns with The West Australian Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines and is intended to complement a play-based learning environment. PreLit aims to provide children with a strong foundation for reading. The program is systematic, skills-based, and taught in a hierarchical sequence. Its two main components are phonological awareness and oral language development through structured book reading.
